
Gerry George
Gerry is a climate change and energy policy professional, focusing on high-impact climate action areas such as comfort cooling in buildings, energy efficiency of household appliances, and sustainable cold chain in developing countries. His work includes leveraging a 360° view of the triple-sector (i.e. public, private, and knowledge sectors) to drive evidence-based sustainable energy policymaking and its implementation. Gerry contributed significantly to the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India’s India Cooling Action Plan (ICAP) 2019, and is now leveraging the Indian experience to formulate cooling action plans for Cambodia and Indonesia, demonstrating South-South Cooperation. His other work focuses on assessing food loss reduction, increasing farmers’ income, and energy saving opportunities in the Indian cold chain sector, particularly in West Bengal, Bihar and Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, he is part of the initiatives to drive district cooling in India, formulation of the India Cooling Coalition (ICC), and implementation of ICAP.
