AEEE at COP29, Baku
AEEE will be at the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP29) from 11-22 November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan, with the objective of advancing action on tracking progress on energy efficiency, knowledge exchange on strategies and high-impact opportunities for doubling its rate and building compelling narratives around energy efficiency.
During the conference, AEEE is co-organising a side event on ‘Tracking Efficiency Progress in the Global South’ and a roundtable discussion on ‘The Efficiency Buzz: Leveraging Communications to Power Climate Wins’. The AEEE team will also participate in various sessions and discussions focused on energy transition, building decarbonisation, sustainable cooling, international cooperation, public-private partnership, and youth engagement.

Harnessing the power of energy efficiency is essential for countries in the Global South to achieve climate goals while advancing sustainable development. This session will facilitate a discussion focused on building effective frameworks to track energy efficiency progress, sharing best practices and identifying strategies for rapid improvement. In light of the first global stocktake, this session will explore actionable tools and insights to accelerate the doubling of energy efficiency progress while ensuring measurable outcomes and inspiring further action.

Together, we will develop strategies to make this vital yet underrepresented resource a core part of the climate action, sparking meaningful, lasting impact.
