Akash helps turn energy end-use data into workable information, which can support energy & climate policymaking, enable markets, and nudge consumer behaviour. Alongside, Akash leverages his experiences from the development of the India Cooling Action Plan (2019) to support cooling-centric initiatives at AEEE, especially those closely related to national cooling action plans. He is a mechanical engineer and has a master’s degree in sustainable energy from Imperial College London. Akash is a quintessential Calcutta boy and enjoys reading, writing, and painting.

Akhil Singhal has 4 years of experience in project implementation and consulting for Energy and Environment and has worked in India and the Netherlands. He is an engineer and completed his Masters in Sustainability Science and Policy from Maastricht University, Netherlands.

She has over 7 years of work experience and is competent in Power System Studies, Data Science and Energy Modelling.
Chandana started her career in the Petrochemical sector at Reliance Industries Limited. Passionate about clean energy, she altered her career path with commitment to work towards sustainable energy transition. Prior to joining AEEE, she was engaged as a Consultant for the Technical Assistance program for Solar Rooftop Deployment and has assisted policy and regulatory framework development.
Chandana holds Masters in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi and Bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Government Engineering College, Thrissur. Deepak focusses on data driven policy research on Energy Efficiency, ESCO and EE financing and market enablement for ESCO. At AEEE he is actively involved in creating business models for the growth of the ESCO industry and bridging the gap between ESCO and the end users by facilitating dialogues and conducting workshops/seminars for creating awareness on Energy Efficiency retrofits. He has wide experience in policy and research work specifically in buildings energy efficiency, energy efficiency assessment of existing building stock, environmental rating for buildings, and development of standard & labelling framework for consumer appliances.
Deepak worked with PwC on pre-feasibility of District Energy System in Cities in India which involved stakeholder consultation and technical & financial feasibility for a pilot DES system. He has also supported States in India in the implementation and enforcement of Energy Conservation Building Code and developing energy benchmarks for Hotels in India. He has also worked with The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI) in building energy efficiency on research and policy development, environmental consultancy for new constructions and investment grade energy audits.

Dharini Sridharan is an Architect by graduation and further pursued her Master of technology in Building Energy Performance at CEPT University, Gujarat. She has worked with CEPT University as Academic Associate and has a strong foundation in Building Physics. In addition to her experience as an Architect, she has hands on experience in working on various projects pursuing green building rating systems like LEED, IGBC and GRIHA. She is a LEED Green Associate. Her passion is to contribute to a healthy built environment for the future generations and provide quality living experience to people using built environment as a tool. Gerry George is a young energy professional with subject matter expertise to seamlessly work on AEEE priorities with reasonable autonomy. He currently works as a senior research associate in AEEE focusing on high-impact and emerging areas like space cooling in buildings, appliance efficiency and energy efficient (EE) cold-chain in India. His work areas include facilitating data-driven and evidence-based energy efficiency policies, leveraging industry leadership to scale up the deployment of EE technologies and impacting energy security, advancing cost-effective EE practices and technologies for climate protection and better quality of life. He has completed his MTech in Energy Systems from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun and has prior industry experience where he worked in design and drafting of heat exchangers. He has contributed significantly for AEEE’s stewardship and facilitation of the landmark India Cooling Action Plan.

Ms. Ishita Sachdeva is a post graduate in Environmental Economics and presently a Ph.D Candidate at University of Delhi. Ishita has a vast research experience on the subjects of Sustainable Development, Climate Change, Agriculture, Buildings, Clean Energy, Energy Efficiency and Health. Her doctoral thesis is broadly focused on the evaluation of India’s ongoing policies on Energy Conservation, Energy Efficiency and Clean Cooking. During her professional journey, she has worked at length with policy think tanks, governmental and academic institutions.
Ishita aspires to work in areas relevant to the implementation and evaluation of Energy Efficiency as a catalyst solution across sectors that corroborates the achievement of India’s commitments under Paris Agreement.

Jayanta Chaudhuri is a sales and marketing professional with over twenty five years’ experience in business development, key account management, and alliances. At AEEE, he heads the marketing, membership, training, alliances & partnership functions.
In his previous roles, Jayanta led high performance teams and businesses for Moser Baer, Onmobile Global (as Account Director for Vodafone India, developing and driving their growth of value-added services across the data, voice and messaging platforms), Nokia and Microsoft (for both, he headed their device-led enterprise mobility solutions business in West India, services and alliances with Indian telcos). Before joining AEEE, he worked with The Times Group, where he was the National Business Head for consumer durables and telecom verticals, responsible for integrated media solutions across traditional and new age media.
Having handled strategic portfolios across diverse products and services, and geographies, Jayanta is a keen enterprise-relationship enabler. A serious runner who draws life’s lessons from running, he believes in team spirit, team work and in building self-sustained communities.

Dr. Khushboo Gupta is presently working as a Senior Research Associate at AEEE. Before AEEE, she was associated with the National Institute of Urban Affairs and worked on projects related to youth and inclusive cities. She has a Ph.D. in Planning, Governance, and Globalization from the School of Public and International Affairs at Virginia Tech. Her doctoral studies focused on smart city implementation in developing nations. While pursuing her doctorate, Dr. Gupta has worked for the Virginia Tech’s Office of Economic Development, conducting research on topics such as technology adoption and suggesting strategies for place-making projects. She also has a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
Nitin Kesar is a communications professional with a passion for change and a strong curiosity to learn. He is an accomplished communicator with a track record of working with new-age brands and generating impact.
Previously, he was responsible for looking after the communications-related outputs for USAID’s innovative financing platform called PAHAL. Nitin has worked with brands like Economic Times, Housing.com, and Teach for India.

Radhika Israni is a communications professional with a demonstrated history of working in the development sector. Prior to joining Alliance for an Energy-Efficient Economy (AEEE), she was with Oxfam India and SOS Children’s Villages of India. She has also been a national member of the UN-75 Initiative- the largest global conversation to shape the UN’s 2045 strategy.
She is driven by a passion for change and strives to draw meaning and purpose out of all that she does. As a communicator, her strengths lie in campaign creation, storytelling and social media.
Radhika is based out of Delhi NCR and often enjoys the company of good music, colours/paints and animals. She is also a volunteer at Friendicoes and often devotes her free time to work for animal rights.

Rakesh Goswami is a pro-active and result oriented professional with more than 22 years of experience in a wide range of working areas. Being a Chartered Accountant, Rakesh’s extensive work in the development sector has honed him into an authority on financial compliances, NGO management, and CSR laws. Passive design strategies, daylighting, building energy simulation, and envelope design optimization is her area of expertise.
Shravani Itkelwar is a Research Associate working in the “Industrial Energy Efficiency” vertical at AEEE. She is currently working on developing a way forward for a robust energy data management system for the building sector. She holds a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from RTM Nagpur University. Prior to joining master’s in TERI SAS, she has worked for a year in Rane Group, an automotive component manufacturer as a Graduate Engineering Trainee in Quality Assurance domain. During master’s, she interned in IIT Bombay where she worked on the performance assessment of a wall mounted solar oven. For her master’s dissertation, she worked with the sustainability team of Godrej Industries and has done a couple of projects in Godrej’s soap manufacturing unit at Malanpur.
Simrat works as an energy economist in the ‘Buildings and Communities’ vertical of AEEE. With proficiency in the economic appraisal and valuation, and quantitative and qualitative analysis, her key focus area of work is towards facilitating a sustainable cooling future. She holds a Master’s in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics Honors from the Punjabi University, Patiala. For her MSc dissertation, she carried out a research project which looked into the public preferences for setting up a biomass-based power plant to combat the problem of open-field burning in Punjab. Her master’s thesis was published in the peer reviewed journal ‘Biomass and Bioenergy’. She also has a published paper in the journal ‘Punjab: Past and Present’ that delved into the characterization of gender differentials in employment in Punjabi University, Patiala.
Srishti Sharma is a young energy professional working as a Research Associate in the Buildings and Communities vertical of AEEE. Her work is focused towards evidence based-policy research in energy intensive and impact driven areas such as appliance and building energy efficiency, energy access, identification & deployment of scalable refrigeration-cooling solutions for rural weak-grid communities; for their increased livelihood and enhanced quality of life. She was also the Project Manager for LEED V4 ID+C: Commercial Interiors, an integrated design & retrofit project of AEEE’s New Delhi office.
Prior to joining AEEE, she worked as an Assistant Manager- Research and Policy at Grassroots and Rural Innovative Development (G.R.I.D.), where she was responsible for conducting in-depth research, creation of detailed project reports, etc. related to various solar-powered projects in the rural communities. She had been associated with organizations such as Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-D), Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), Forum for Air Quality, Clean Air Asia (CAA) and Skyways Ltd. for short-term projects. With over 9 years of experience in the field of accounting and finance, Sumit looks after accounting, taxation, and other commercial requirements at AEEE. Prior to joining AEEE in 2015, he worked with IRG Systems South Asia Pvt. Ltd. on USAID’s Energy Conservation Commercialisation Project (ECO-III), Disaster Management Support Project (DMSP), ECO Asia Clean Development and Climate Program and Private Finance Advisory Network (PFAN).
Tarun Garg is presently working as Programme lead at AEEE. He is having a work experience of more than 12 years in leading and managing a portfolio of projects in India, Asia and Africa on building sector (commercial and residential), Green Cooling, Greening of Smart Cities, Industrial Parks and Standard and labelling of appliances. He has done his Masters in Energy and Environment management from IIT Delhi and graduation from Delhi College Engineering in Mechanical stream and done. He is a BEE certified Energy Auditor and a Certified Professional on International Protocol on Measurement and Verification (CMVP).
Sneha is an energy professional with significant experience in energy efficiency, utility DSM, and strategic energy management. She is passionate about developing market transformation strategies that influence how energy decisions are made at micro and macro levels. Prior to joining AEEE, Sneha spent 16 years working in the US, first as a Senior Consultant with a global engineering services firm, and then as a Lead Programme Manager of energy services with one of the largest utilities in North America. Her experience includes strategic planning, development of energy efficiency programmes, advancing integrated energy solutions including renewables, and developing energy roadmaps for public and private entities. Prior to working in the US, Sneha was a practicing architect in New Delhi.
Sneha has a B.Arch. from Institute of Environmental Design in India, an MBA from University of South Carolina, USA, and a professional certification in Sustainability and Energy Policy from University of California, Berkeley, USA.
Bhaskar Natarajan has over twenty-five years of experience in areas related to clean energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development. Bhaskar has managed large programs, working with donor agencies to scope out program goals, and working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results.
Bhaskar has worked on projects, supported by World Bank, USAID, ADB, UNDP, CIDA, and DFID among others, and has been a part of several official government and industry committees of energy and environment.
Bhaskar has worked with the Institute of Sustainable Communities (2017-2019), was Deputy Chief of USAID PACE-D Project (2014-2017) and was the Managing Director of C-Quest Capital Green Ventures Private Limited, a subsidiary of C-Quest Capital Inc.
Prior to this, Bhaskar was the Country Coordinator USAID Eco-Asia Clean Development and Climate Program (January 2008- August 2009), a multi-country program on clean energy, managed by USAID RDMA office, Bangkok.
Bhaskar also worked as Senior Program Manager, India Canada Environment Facility (April 1998- January 2008). ICEF was a bilateral program of Government of India and Canada, managed through the Canadian High Commission, New Delhi. Bhaskar managed several projects ranging from Can$ 500,000- 1,000,000 over this period.
Bhaskar was the Director, Energy Management Centre, Ministry of Power, Government of India (June 1994- March 1998). As the national agency for energy efficiency in India, EMC launched several programs for energy efficiency.

Prasad Vaidya is the Director of Solar Decathlon India and a Senior Advisor at AEEE. He is a LEED Fellow with 25+ years of experience in energy policy, program development, and net-zero energy building projects in the USA, Korea, the Middle East, and India, on over 150 buildings. He has worked on the implementation of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) and led the development of ECOnirman Whole Building Performance, an energy simulation compliance tool. His experience includes passive solar design at building and urban planning scales, and appropriate construction technologies. He is an Adjunct Professor at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and a former Professor and Area Chair for Building Energy Performance at CEPT University. He taught graduate-level courses at the University of Minnesota, and continuing education courses as ASHRAE and LEED faculty. He co-authored Fundamentals of Integrated Design for Sustainable Building, published by John Wiley and Sons.
Consultant, Power Utility and Electric Mobility
Ishan is a fresh graduate working as a Research Consultant with AEEE (PUEM). He has completed his Masters of Technology in Power and Energy Systems from NIT Meghalaya. He carried out his project and thesis report on the topic of Transactive Energy Systems for which he holds a publication in IEEE Systems Journal. His area of expertise include power system modelling, distribution network, optimization and electricity markets. He has keen interest in sport and has played basketball and cricket at college level. Apart from this, he is a good keyboard player and has performed in various events.

Varun is a Consultant working with the Power Utility and Electric Mobility team. A Mechanical Engineer turned policy student, Varun graduated from the National Law School of India University with a Master’s in Public Policy. His dissertation revolved around business models to improve the financial viability of distributed energy resource projects. He has previously been part of an Impact evaluation project in association with the Government of Karnataka. He was also part of the Public Affairs Index team, which is a data-based framework that measures the quality of governance imparted at the subnational level. Varun’s primary areas of interest include clean energy finance, sustainable mobility, and development economics. In his free time, Varun loves discussing films and is always up for a game of badminton.
Prashant Kanaujia has joined as a Consultant (Full Time) for cold chain projects, primarily the Good Energy Foundation (GEF) Project, SHEETAL and NCAP.
Prashant is a Graduate in Agricultural Sciences from B.H.U (2010-2014) and a Post-Graduate in Rural Management from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) 2014-16 batch. He has 4+ years of experience in agriculture-related projects, in both development and for-profit organizations. His major areas of expertise are in Procurement of agri-commodities, Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Development, Market Intelligence, Cost Optimization, Contract Farming, Inventory & Logistics. He has recently done a pilot project on EV logistics services to small and marginal farmers for transporting their produce to the nearby market. He is an Architect and IIM, Calcutta alumnus, has over nineteen years of professional experience in the design and development of large-scale corporate and institutional projects. He spearheaded notable projects such as National Secretariat Complex for Royal Government of Bhutan and Suzlon One Earth Campus in Pune which got LEEP Platinum and TERI 5-star rating. He was trained in advance energy simulations and low energy HVAC design by various International experts and US National Labs.
Jagadeesh’s areas of interest are Life Cycle Costing, High Performance Buildings and evolving efficient built-forms that suit the Indian socio, economic and cultural conditions. He has studied architecture from SPA, JNTU and Applied Finance from IIM Calcutta. He is member of Council of Architecture.
