Industrial Efficiency 2016
12–14 September 2016, die Kalkscheune, Berlin
Regardless of the sector, energy efficiency is key to productivity, energy security, job creation and lower carbon intensity. The next eceee industrial energy efficiency event will be held in Berlin in September 2016 with a partly renewed format. Following a careful evaluation of the 2012 and 2014 Summer Studies and listening to the input from many participants and stakeholders, we have created a conference that will last for two days, starting in the afternoon of Monday 12 September and ending in the afternoon of Wednesday 14 September.
The new format also offers participants the opportunity to make a presentation without an accompanying paper, while also welcoming those who wish to develop peer-reviewed papers.
eceee hopes that the updated format will attract a wider variety of stakeholders, from industry practitioners and consultants to academia and policy makers.
Die Kalkscheune, a former machine tool and bicycle factory, has been booked for the event. It is right in the centre of vibrant Berlin and offers excellent and easy access by train and air.
The main changes in 2016 compared to eceee’s earlier Industrial Summer Studies in 2012 and 2014:
- Shorter event: A two-day conference instead of three days means less time away from the office and lower costs for participants.
- Move to centre of a major city: A vibrant, cool, and exciting Berlin with a venue that is easy to access.
- Simplified abstracts/paper process and option of lower thresholds for presenters: Authors will be able choose to submit abstracts for either proper peer-reviewed papers, or extended abstracts that are non peer-reviewed. At previous Industrial Summer Studies, all authors had to produce a full paper. Now, only an extended abstract will be required as the basis for oral presentations.
- No posters or displays: All panel presentations are in the form of oral presentations in parallel sessions.
