Dharini Sridharan

Dharini Sridharan is a sustainability professional in the built environment with over nine years of experience spanning policy research, sustainable passive design, green building certification, building energy modelling and simulations, and climate-resilient affordable housing. An Architect by qualification, registered with the CoA, she has an MTech in Building Energy Performance from CEPT University, Gujarat. She has hands-on experience of over 25 projects, leading green building certification for buildings through processes such as LEED, IGBC, GRIHA, and WELL. Dharini is a LEED AP, IGBC AP, WELL AP, and a Living Future Accredited professional (LFA) from ILFI. She has a deep experience in integrating passive and low-energy cooling strategies into policy and design, and in developing climate-resilient approaches for self-built affordable housing under PMAY-BLC and PMAY-G. She has worked on projects with GBPN, SBI, KfW, MoEF&CC, MoRD, Infosys, and the World Bank, among others, and has strategically led stakeholder engagements with ministries, state governments, housing beneficiaries, supply chain actors, Primary Lending Institutions (PLIs), and Affordable Housing Finance Companies (AHFCs). She has also played an active role in facilitating the adoption of building energy codes (ECBC, ENS) in India. Her broader interests lie in shaping better buildings and driving policy-level implementation of energy efficiency at scale.
