This project presents a first-of-its-kind landscape assessment of energy efficiency opportunities in pack-houses across India. The primary focus is on the assessment of policy and institutional frameworkinstitutional the framework governing cold-chain in India and an exhaustive assessment of pack-house through field visits across the country.

The study covers site visit observation on pack-house design and planning aspects, energy efficiency practices, operation and maintenance practices, and on-the-ground challenges and opportunities. This is followed by an analysis of energy data gathered from the site visits, identification of energy efficiency measures (EEMs), and developing policy recommendations and regulatory options for the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
