EV-A New Entrant To India’s Electricity Consumer-Basket
As the Indian economy is rapidly growing, transport demand is expected to further increase over the next several decades. To reduce oil dependence and address the issues of climate change and local air pollution, electrification of vehicles has been identified by the Government of India (GoI) as a potential opportunity. To increase EV adoption, the availability of charging infrastructure is a major requirement. It is the backbone of electric mobility and has been the most difficult issue to address. This report takes a closer look at how consumer tariffs are fixed in India and how EV charging tariffs are linked to EV adoption.
