With support from Good Energies Foundation, AEEE carried out this study to identify super-efficient appliances used for productive and household purposes in weak/off-grid rural communities, their manufacturers and solar home system, and distributed renewable energy systems providers supplying these appliances. The study further identified and evaluated the challenges faced by all the key actors in the super-efficient appliance market and recommended measures to overcome these challenges. The study also catalogues the technical specifications of the appliances by conducting extensive primary surveys and secondary research. It also incorporates stakeholder consultations to capture the perspectives of the key actors. An appliance data portal, “Super-Efficient Appliances Data Portal”, was also developed. It catalogues the details of appliances, manufacturers, SHS and DRE system providers.
