    Aamir Zaman is a young professional with 3 years of experience in the domain of sustainable cooling, renewable energy, and energy conservation. He has worked on several research-based projects as well as practical implementation-based projects. Some of his major projects are the Prefeasibility test of Sustainable Cold Chain, a white paper on the Economic Analysis of Diesel Generator vs Battery Energy Storage System, an Electricity Tariff Visualisation of Tamil Nadu and an Energy Audit of process industries. Aamir pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked with Thermax Ltd. and Auroville Consulting. Currently, he is working as a Project Associate in the Cold chain sector at AEEE and his main motive is to research and implement green technology for a better future.

      Akansha Ujala Dean

      Research Associate

      Akansha Ujala Dean is working as a Research Associate under Building and Communities vertical in the Cold Chain Team. Currently she is working in the CLASP Project. Akansha is a Graduate in Bachelor of Science from University of Lucknow (2013-2016) and a Post-Graduate in Environment Management from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) 2017-2019 batch. As part of her post-graduation thesis, she has worked in Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Delhi, and Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP), Dehradun on “Assessment of Biomass energy potential all over India.”

      She has worked as an Assistant Analyst, in Punjab Renewable Energy Systems Private Limited (PRESPL). She has also worked as a Business Development Associate and Counsellor in BYJU’s. Her career objective is to be distinctive asset that makes notable contributions in the field of environment conservation and management, which lead to better human welfare and living situations. In her spare time, she likes to play guitar and listen music.

        Akash Goenka

        Akash Goenka is a clean energy transition professional who keenly understands India’s energy efficiency policies and their interplay with climate change. His domain expertise is in climate-friendly cooling, developing national cooling action plans, and building sector energy efficiency. Akash has staked AEEE’s stronghold as a climate-friendly cooling expert in the global arena, established South-South cooperation between India and other Southeast Asian countries on climate-friendly cooling, and instituted a new programme at AEEE around primary energy data. Akash is a mechanical engineer from VIT University, Vellore, with a master’s degree in sustainable energy futures from Imperial College London.

          Alisha Abraham

          Research Associate

          Alisha is an economist by discipline with a keen interest in energy and sustainability. She is a Research Associate at AEEE and has worked in the area of energy use, energy transition, and decarbonisation in Indian airports and the aviation sector. She is adept at in-depth secondary research, data transformation, and econometrics methods. Her prior experience with the IIIT Hyderabad was about automation in the Indian IT sector and involvement of the informal skilling sector in the progress of Artificial Intelligence in the sector. She completed her master’s degree in economics from the University of Hyderabad. In her spare time, she loves to explore new places and food.

            Alok Pandey

            Manager Projects

            Alok has done his Bachelors in Agriculture from Allahabad Agriculture Institute-Deemed University, Naini and MBA (Marketing) from Birla Institute of technology, Mesra Ranchi. He has 18 years of expertise in FPO business ecosystem development, Market linkages for agri input and output, Potato Contract Farming, Buying, Merchandising, Strategic Direct Farm Sourcing, Warehouse Operations Management. Previously he was associated with companies like ‘‘Metro Cash & Carry India’ Reliance Retail Ltd’ TechnoServe India’ FarmLink’ ‘Pick N Serve Foods Pvt Ltd’.

              Anmol Jain

              Anmol has joined AEEE as a Research Associate and will be working with the Power Utility and Electric Mobility vertical. He has completed his M.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and B.Arch from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal.

              With a strong passion for environmental sustainability, Anmol directs his research towards E-mobility and the Life Cycle Assessment of vehicular emissions. He is driven by his commitment to fostering sustainable transportation solutions, with the aim of contributing to a better future through his research and implementation efforts. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing badminton and reading novels.

                Anu Raswant

                Anu Raswant has been working as Executive Secretary to the top management for the past 18+ years offering unparalleled personal, administrative & operations support to senior level executives and high profile individuals & corporate. She has a rich experience in managing the smooth operations for the top management.

                She has graduated in B.Com from Delhi University and has also attained PG Diploma in HR from MIT University, Pune.

                In her previous engagements she has worked with development sector organisations and corporate organisations. Her last engagement was with Select CITYWALK Mall, wherein she provided the secretarial assistance to the Chairman of Select Group.

                  Ashish Rao Ghorpade

                  Senior Expert - Low Carbon Cities

                  Ashish Rao Ghorpade is a development sector practitioner with around 20 years of experience. By training Ashish is an Urban and Regional Planner with Architecture background. He has worked with over 150 cities across South Asia for low carbon development covering themes of Sustainable Built Environment, Transport, Services, Governance and Economy. Ashish has been involved in various national and international initiatives and programs that have focused on Cities and their improvement through developing partnerships, trainings, cross learning, case studies and demonstration projects. Over the course of his professional engagements, he has worked on projects and initiatives supported by the World Bank, Cities Alliance, WSP, Caritas International, GGGI, USDOS, NREL, Climate Works Foundation, SSEF, SDC, ADB, UKAid, IKI, and Various National government entities such as NITI Ayog, MOHUA, MOC and MOEF. Ashish is passionate about making impactful improvements in the urban built environment and Mobility spaces.

                    Balendu Bhushan Pandey

                    Balendu Bhushan Pandey has 12 years of dynamic experience in numerous projects of digitalization initiatives in Industry, as well as in the field of Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management. Throughout his career, he has worked with the industrial sector and private and government consulting agencies. In the industrial sector, he worked with Vedanta Resources Limited vision, “To Make Most Digitalized Mines,” to make the underground mining process more predictable, reliable and sustainable. In the past in the Energy Efficiency and management area, he has contributed in implementing energy efficiency project supported by BEE and EESL. He demonstrated projects in industrial sector provided consultancy assistance in various areas, including energy audits, demand aggregation, Measurement and Verification, energy management system, implementation of energy efficiency technologies, industrial decarbonization, and ESCOs business Super-efficient Fan program.

                    He has published 03 research papers in International journals and conferences and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Wireless communication system. He is holding MTech. & B.Tech. Degree.

                    Bhairav Sharma

                    At AEEE, I have been involved in the administrative framework from the last 13+ years including Industry Membership collaboration in the Energy Efficiency sector, Training/Events program, and Outreach activities. I am a nodal point for supporting the planning and managing the execution of various Workshops and Training & Capacity Building programs of AEEE in the Energy Efficiency domain, including AEEE’s Annual Conclave, Flagship Events, and Members Networking Meet. in addition to managing the AEEE master database in various domains of Energy Efficiency across the globe. I also providing cross-functional support internally to other divisions at AEEE as well as to external Members and Stakeholders in organizing and managing various Webinars, Workshops, Roundtable and Outreach Events through various digital platforms.

                    Coordinating with Measurement & Verification (M&V) professionals to organizing M&V Fundamentals and International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP®) Training and Certification for measurement and verification (M&V) professionals in India and South Asia from last 13 years. Past PMVA Local board member in India. Bhairav holds an Economics degree from IGNOU.

                     

                      Bhaskar Natarajan

                      Senior Fellow

                      Dr. Bhaskar Natarajan has over twenty-five years of experience in areas related to clean energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development. Bhaskar has managed large programs, working with donor agencies to scope out program goals, and working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results. Bhaskar has worked on projects, supported by World Bank, USAID, ADB, UNDP, CIDA, and DFID among others, and has been a part of several official government and industry committees of energy and environment.

                      Bhaskar has worked with the agencies of the Ministry of Power and Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate change on national level programs for energy efficiency and sustainability. Bhaskar has also extensive experience working with NGOs at the grass roots level, implementing projects to deliver project benefits to the local population. Bhaskar has also worked with the private sector in planning and implementing projects relating to carbon finance with several power utilities in the country. While working with government agencies, Bhaskar was a member of several official committees set up to review plans, projects, regulations. Prior to joining AEEE, Bhaskar has worked with the USAID PACE-D project and the Institute of Sustainable Communities.

                      Bhaskar has written extensively in national and international publications and is the co-author of ‘Renewable Energy, A Policy Analysis for India’, Tata McGraw Hill, Delhi, 2000. Bhaskar was the Contributing Lead Author for the chapters on Technology Transfer, as a part of the Special Report on Methodological and Technological Issues in Technology Transfer, for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

                        Bhuvan Sharma

                        Dr. Bhuvan Sharma completed his B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University (currently Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University) in 2009. Thereafter, he served industry as well as academic institutes till 2015. Dr. Bhuvan accomplished his M. Tech. and Ph.D. in Power Systems from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, in 2017 and 2023, respectively. His research interests include distribution system planning and operation, demand flexibility, demand side management, and techno-economic feasibility analysis of distributed energy resources

                          Brijesh Pandey

                          Senior Research Associate

                          Dr. Brijesh Pandey has recently joined AEEE as a senior research associate, where his main focus of work would be energy efficiency in buildings. He has pursued his master’s and Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. Before joining AEEE, he was a post-doctoral fellow in the same institution where his work focused on applying ceiling fans to mitigate airborne pathogens.

                          His work/research interests include model-based predictive control, AI for buildings, thermal storage in buildings, building energy simulation, thermal comfort, and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).

                          He was also awarded the prestigious BHAVAN fellowship supported by the Dept. of Science and Technology, Gov. of India, and Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF) to carry out his internship at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL).

                          Dr. Pandey is keenly interested in interdisciplinary pedagogy and research and believes in removing the silos of the subject barrier for holistic knowledge.
                          He loves to spend his leisure time reading ancient history.

                            Dasharath Bhagaji Gholap

                            Project Manager - Cold Chain

                            Dasharath is an accomplished professional with over fourteen years of experience in agri-food supply chains, banking, and consultancy has worked with organizations like EY, HDFC Bank, Go4fresh, Bayer CropScience, and Unifrutti over the years. His work includes flagship projects like the Central Sector Scheme of “Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO)”, Crop Cluster Development Programme (CCDP) Haryana, Himachal Pradesh Subtropical Horticulture, Irrigation & Value Addition (HPSHIVA) and MP Mandi Board Bhopal. He has expertise in supply chain transformation and optimization, cold chain management in F&V, supply chain finance, and market linkages. He has completed a postgraduation in Horticulture from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, and PGP in Supply Chain Management from MANAGE, Hyderabad.

                              Dharini Sridharan

                              Dharini Sridharan is an Architect by graduation, registered with the Council of Architecture and further pursued her Master of Technology in Building Energy Performance at CEPT University, Gujarat. She has worked with CEPT University as Academic Associate for M.Tech BEP and has a strong foundation in Building Physics. In addition to her experience as an Architect, she has hands-on experience in working on 25+ projects as a team lead pursuing green building rating systems like LEED, IGBC and GRIHA. She is a LEED Green Associate and IGBC AP. Her passion is to contribute to a healthy built environment for future generations and provide a quality living experience to people using the built environment as a tool. Her broader interests lie in making better buildings, and policy-level implementation of energy-efficiency at a large scale.

                                Gaurav Vakil

                                Consultant, Buildings & Communities

                                I have completed my M.Tech in Building Energy Performance from CEPT University and B.E in Civil Engineering from MIT Aurangabad. As part of my post-graduation thesis, I worked on “Achieving Net-Zero Energy in High Rise Office Buildings in India and its cost implications”.

                                Prior to joining for masters, I worked in a multi-disciplinary setup, as a Site Engineer, and interior projects as a free-lancer to gain on-field experience. I also worked as a Business Head for the Marathwada region as a channel partner of BASF which deals in Construction Chemicals. I have participated and completed my LEED-Green Associate and IGBC-AP Certifications.

                                  Hardeep Kushal

                                  Hardeep is hard-core finance and management professional with a compliance acumen and brings in immense 21 + yrs. of experience. His diverse background includes Finance, CSR grant management, Legal & Statutory Compliance, Accounts & Taxation, Operational Management, investment planning, the conceptualization of policy framework & internal/ external controls, including audits/fraud & risk management.                                     Himanshu Sharma

                                    Himanshu Sharma, a seasoned Senior Executive in Graphics and DTP Design, brings over a decade of experience to the table. He kick-started his journey with a Multimedia certification from Arena Multimedia in New Delhi following his graduation.

                                    At AEEE, Himanshu plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s identity and communication materials. His expertise extends to company branding, brochure design, report optimisation, and the creation of engaging digital media infographics. Prior to joining AEEE, Himanshu made significant contributions to establishing the design and branding at organisations such as the Centre for Digital Financial Inclusion (CDFI) and a range of clients through Express EKCS.

                                    Beyond his design pursuits, Himanshu finds joy in watching movies, keeping up with cricket matches, and exploring cutting-edge design tools during his leisure time.

                                      Jayanta Chaudhuri

                                      Director- Marketing, Alliances and Partnerships

                                      Jayanta Chaudhuri is a sales and marketing professional with over twenty five years’ experience in business development, key account management, and alliances. At AEEE, he heads the marketing, membership, training, alliances & partnership functions.

                                      In his previous roles, Jayanta led high performance teams and businesses for Moser Baer, Onmobile Global (as Account Director for Vodafone India, developing and driving their growth of value-added services across the data, voice and messaging platforms), Nokia and Microsoft (for both, he headed their device-led enterprise mobility solutions business in West India, services and alliances with Indian telcos). Before joining AEEE, he worked with The Times Group, where he was the National Business Head for consumer durables and telecom verticals, responsible for integrated media solutions across traditional and new age media.
                                      Having handled strategic portfolios across diverse products and services, and geographies, Jayanta is a keen enterprise-relationship enabler. A serious runner who draws life’s lessons from running, he believes in team spirit, team work and in building self-sustained communities.

                                        She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2022 with a focus in Finance and Economics. She is a young professional and has a year of prior experience working as a Portfolio Analyst at First Republic Bank. She has a keen interest in data modeling and is looking forward to coming up with significant recommendations for policymakers based on findings and analysis.

                                          Kashmeera Patel

                                          Research Associate

                                          Kashmeera patel completed her bachelor’s in Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi before her keen interest in development issues both local and global led her to pursue master’s in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies, UK. Where she focused on issues relating to gender, climate change and urban development. Her master’s dissertation analysed the knowledge politics in the Sundarbans area in light of the debates around conservation and climate change.

                                          Following this she worked with Footprint Global Communications and Weber Shandwick on their social impact advocacy and communication mandates. her responsibilities include content development, client servicing and research and analysis of key issues relevant to clients and community outreach and advocacy. She has a vehement interest in research and content development and have written and ghost written opinion articles for several esteemed columns such as The Hindu, Hindustan Times, The Economic Times, The Indian Express, Down to Earth, Outlook, and much more.

                                            Khushboo Gupta

                                            Dr. Khushboo Gupta is presently working as a Senior Research Associate at AEEE. Before AEEE, she was associated with the National Institute of Urban Affairs and worked on projects related to youth and inclusive cities. She has a Ph.D. in Planning, Governance, and Globalization from the School of Public and International Affairs at Virginia Tech. Her doctoral studies focused on smart city implementation in developing nations. While pursuing her doctorate, Dr. Gupta has worked for the Virginia Tech’s Office of Economic Development, conducting research on topics such as technology adoption and suggesting strategies for place-making projects. She also has a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

                                              Krishan Sharma

                                              Krishan Sharma has joined AEEE as a project coordinator. He holds a master’s degree in interior design and has worked as a project manager for over 16 years with architectural, engineering & Interior designs firms across India. Krishan has strong knowledge of building construction’s materials and site engineering. He has experience in executing CSR construction projects pan India for many prestigious organizations like Hindustan Times, Union Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce. He has executed the office Interior project for AEEE head office in New Delhi, which holds PLATINUM AWARD in (LEED) green building rating system certification by The U.S. Green Building Council.

                                              Currently he is working in the green building sector and conducts site visits to collect data for Building and Communities team for AEEE. His passion lies in the latest advancements in Green building technology. He is preparing simultaneously LEEDS examination also. Krishan strongly believe in making high performance buildings by new innovations in green building technology.

                                                Md Saddam Hussain

                                                Senior Research Associate

                                                Md Saddam Hussain has a background and expertise in transportation planning, facility design and optimization, mobility and choice modeling, environmental impact assessment, and road safety assessment. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from NIT Patna in 2015. Afterward, he pursued an M.Tech in the Infrastructure Design and Management Department at IIT Kharagpur.

                                                During his Ph.D., Md Saddam Hussain focused on transportation planning, specifically working on improving pedestrian safety in urban mixed transport environments through design and policy interventions. His research aimed to develop strategies to enhance the safety of pedestrians and reduce accidents in urban areas.

                                                In addition to his academic pursuits, Md Saddam Hussain has been actively involved in various government and non-government projects with interdisciplinary topics. Some notable projects he has contributed to include the optimal planning of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI), the rejuvenation of urban transportation in Varanasi as part of the UAY project, and the Global Safety Road Partnership project in collaboration with IFRC.

                                                Outside of his professional endeavors, Md Saddam Hussain enjoys watching sci-fi movies and playing online games during his personal time.

                                                  Meghaa

                                                  Research Associate

                                                  Meghaa has joined as a Research Associate and will be working with the State & Local Actions and Energy Data Services teams.

                                                  Meghaa has a background in economics having completed her master’s degree, focused in environmental and resource economics, from TERI School of Advanced Studies.
                                                  Her experience includes working on research reports in the clean energy and mobility space, covering various aspects of the energy transition, renewable energy value chains, as well as applications of cleaner fuel sources.

                                                  Throughout her academic and professional life, she has fostered an interdisciplinary approach in understanding complex development challenges and delving into exploring solutions through research.
                                                  She aims to apply herself in working towards the facilitation of an energy-efficient economy.

                                                  Her interests also include reading, solving puzzles, attempting to play musical instruments, and brewing coffee.

                                                    Mrinal Saurabh Bhaskar

                                                    Expert - Industrial EE and Decarbonization

                                                    Mrinal Saurabh Bhaskar brings over 14 years of expertise in the fields of energy efficiency and climate change. Throughout his career, he has held positions in government, private, and international consulting organizations, where he contributed significantly to energy policy, energy management, climate change initiatives, demand-side management, and the implementation of energy efficiency technologies, etc. He has played a pivotal role in designing and implementing national-level policies and schemes on behalf of organizations such as the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Services Limited.

                                                    He has demonstrated project leadership in diverse areas, including industrial energy efficiency, building energy efficiency, resource conservation, benchmarking studies, establishment of revolving funds, energy audits, and the execution of energy efficiency measures, etc. Additionally, he has provided consulting support to esteemed government agencies and multilateral organizations including Niti Aayog, Ministry of Power, Ministry of MSME, Department of Science & Technology (DST), The World Bank, USAID, UNDP, GEF, JICA, and Energy Market Authority (Singapore) in India, Singapore, Thailand, and Sri Lanka, addressing various energy efficiency and climate change concerns. He has also imparted training to the senior officials of more than 15 DISCOMs on DSM and Energy Efficiency under BEE’s Capacity building program of DISCOMs as Lead trainer.

                                                    Prior to his current position at AEEE, Mrinal has made significant contributions to projects such as the Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme, trading mechanisms for Energy Saving Certificates (ESCert), market transformation initiatives for energy efficiency in MSMEs, the National Motor Replacement Program, Partial Risk Sharing Facility, Indo-Israel R&D project on Energy-Water Nexus (I4F), and energy peak load shifting and demand-side management projects for EMA Singapore, etc.

                                                    He has published more than 14 research papers in International journals on various energy-related areas. He is a Certified Energy Auditor from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), a Certified Energy Efficiency Policies and Measures professional from IEA and Certified professional on Office Management and General Financial Rules from DoPT, Govt of India.

                                                      Paras Bhattarai

                                                      “Paras Bhattarai was a Research Analyst at the Council on Energy, Environment, and Water (CEEW). His research focused on better understanding the distribution end of the power sector in Uttar Pradesh through data and stakeholder engagement with distribution utilities. He worked on generating insights on metering and billing quality, providing inputs on technology adoption in distribution utilities, and conducting a pilot intervention to support DISCOM in reducing their Technical and Commercial losses. His experience also includes designing and conducting primary surveys, data analysis and econometric analysis.

                                                      Paras holds a Master’s degree in Statistics from CH. Charan Singh University. He is also pursuing a work-integrated M. Tech in Data Science and Engineering from BITS Pilani. When not working, he likes to travel, read about geopolitics, and keep track of everything new in science and cinema.

                                                        Pooja Gangwar

                                                        Project Associate

                                                        Pooja graduated as an architect from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi in 2018 and went on to do a postgraduate program in Built Environment from the Anant National University, Ahmedabad in 2020.

                                                        After practicing as an architect for a short while, she took on various roles contributing to a diverse array of projects at WRI, Development Alternatives, and cBalance Solutions Private Limited. These include analyzing building decarbonization policies, affordable housing initiatives, sustainable cooling projects, and clean energy transitions within different states and cities.

                                                        Besides her professional endeavors, she is an advocate of good health and well-being. She actively participates in discussions related to cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and their intersection with the built environment. During her leisure time, you’ll find her engaging in political debates, traveling and illustrating different cultures, or tuning into TED talks

                                                          Pramod Kumar Singh

                                                          Senior Director – Research & Programmes

                                                          Pramod Kumar Singh has more than 16 years of experience in the energy sector, of which the last 15 years are in clean energy research and consulting for government, private sector, international development agencies, and philanthropies. He has led projects related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change, and power in Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Europe, Nepal, India, the Philippines, Thailand, the Solomon Islands, and the USA. Prior to AEEE, he was leading the Advanced Technologies objective of USAID’s South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP) program. He also led USAID’s South Asia Regional Energy Hub (SAREH) program as the Chief of Party. His other associations include working with ICF International, Schatz Energy Research Centre, and Indian Oil Corporation Limited. Pramod holds a B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee and an M.S. degree in Environmental systems in Energy Technology and Policy stream from Humboldt State University, California. He is also a Certified Energy Auditor by the Government of India.

                                                            Prasad Vaidya is the Director of Solar Decathlon India and a Senior Advisor at AEEE. He is a LEED Fellow with 25+ years of experience in energy policy, program development, and net-zero energy building projects in the USA, Korea, the Middle East, and India, on over 150 buildings. He has worked on the implementation of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) and led the development of ECOnirman Whole Building Performance, an energy simulation compliance tool. His experience includes passive solar design at building and urban planning scales, and appropriate construction technologies. He is an Adjunct Professor at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and a former Professor and Area Chair for Building Energy Performance at CEPT University. He taught graduate-level courses at the University of Minnesota, and continuing education courses as ASHRAE and LEED faculty. He co-authored Fundamentals of Integrated Design for Sustainable Building, published by John Wiley and Sons.

                                                              Prashant Kanaujia

                                                              Prashant Kanaujia has joined as a Consultant (Full Time) for cold chain projects, primarily the Good Energy Foundation (GEF) Project, SHEETAL and NCAP.

                                                              Prashant is a Graduate in Agricultural Sciences from B.H.U (2010-2014) and a Post-Graduate in Rural Management from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) 2014-16 batch. He has 6+ years of experience in agriculture-related projects, in both development and for-profit organizations. His major areas of expertise are in Procurement of agri-commodities, Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Development, Market Intelligence, Cost Optimization, Contract Farming, Inventory & Logistics. He has recently done a pilot project on EV logistics services to small and marginal farmers for transporting their produce to the nearby market. Prashant’s goal is to work diligently in reducing post-harvest food losses by offering appropriate cooling solutions to small and marginal farmers.

                                                              In his free time, he prefers exploring about various start-ups working in the agriculture sector, playing chess, reading novels and spending time with family and friends.

                                                                Rahul Ukey

                                                                Senior Project Associate

                                                                Rahul holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from Swami Vivekanand College of Engineering, Indore, earned in 2008. Furthermore, he completed his postgraduate studies with a Master’s in Engineering (M.E.) in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Design and Thermal aspects, at the Institute of Engineering & Technology, Indore, in 2012. With over five years of teaching experience, he embarked on his journey as a Ph.D. research scholar in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at BITS-Pilani, Pilani campus, starting in January 2018. During his doctoral research, Rahul authored two research papers in international journals, focusing on the improvement of indoor comfort and energy efficiency within residential buildings. His research delves into the impact of climate change on heating and cooling requirements and explores retrofitting solutions to enhance indoor thermal comfort.

                                                                Rahul’s area of expertise notably centers on enhancing indoor comfort and energy efficiency in residential buildings, aligning well with my own research, which investigates the repercussions of climate change on heating and cooling demands while exploring retrofitting possibilities to elevate indoor thermal comfort.

                                                                  Raj Kumar Verma

                                                                  State Coordinator

                                                                  Raj Verma is a State Coordinator for Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE). He is having an experience of more than a decade in the sustainability and Energy Efficiency Sector. By academics, he is an Electrical Engineer. He is also a GRIHA Certified Professional (GRIHA CP), IGBC Accredited Professional (IGBC AP) and also empanelled as GreenCo Facilitator from CII. He was also the first member of the first ECBC cell constituted across India, spearheading his services for the implementation of ECBC in the state of Uttar Pradesh. He has also developed energy efficiency and sustainable policies for the states of Haryana, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura. He played a vital role in the notification of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) and its implementation in the states of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Mizoram and Tripura. He has extensive experience in working with State and Central government agencies. During his tenure, he has organized more than 200 online/offline training programmes and was also a speaker in more than 100 programmes. Worked on many projects for IGBC/GRIHA/GreenCo facilitation of different residential, commercial, metro Stations and factory projects.

                                                                    Rakesh Goswami is a pro-active and result oriented professional with more than 22 years of experience in a wide range of working areas. Being a Chartered Accountant, Rakesh’s extensive work in the development sector has honed him into an authority on financial compliances, NGO management, and CSR laws. With his knowledge of financial accounting, strategy, planning, budgeting, along with his expertise in taxation, internal auditing, statutory compliance, liaising administration – Rakesh leads by example.

                                                                    Rakesh is a problem-solver, who can handle any crisis confidently, with a cool head. His acumen for financial and legal matters, management of working capital, NGOs, human resources, and client relationship make him a multi-tasker. He possesses extensive experience in offering legal advice to corporates on various matters, including setting up offices of foreign companies and NGOs in India, drafting agreements and other business documents, foreign exchange-related activities, and obtaining government approvals.

                                                                      I am a Public Policy post-graduate from St.Xaviers College, Mumbai, and a graduate in Philosophy from Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi. As an aspiring policymaker, I have a keen interest in the domains of Energy and Education. Before joining AEEE, I interned at two renowned non-profits whilst fruitfully contributing to their research and campaigning initiatives. Currently, as a Research Trainee in AEEE, my goal is to fuse my previous learnings with energy efficiency endeavours in service of society. I have always been a curious learner with an adaptive and resilient approach to life, and I look forward to learning and growing within AEEE.

                                                                        Ritabrata Sen

                                                                        Lead - Partnerships (Real Estate & Industry)

                                                                        Ritarbrata Sen joined as Lead – Partnerships (Real Estate & Industry). He works closely with the Solar Decathlon India core team in strengthening partnerships with Developers, Industry, and other key stakeholders. Ritabrata also works closely with AEEE’s Low Carbon Built Environment, Membership & Comms Team, and is based out of our Delhi office.

                                                                        Ritabrata is an Engineer with PGDM in Marketing. He has been working in the industry since 2010. Before joining AEEE, Ritabrata was involved in the marketing of steel construction materials at Kamdhenu Group and later in the marketing of green and net zero building ratings at CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). During his professional career, Ritabrata has been involved extensively in reaching out to architects, designers, engineers, developers, planners, consultants, manufacturers and many other stakeholders in the construction and real estate sector. He is an IGBC Accredited Green Building Professional and has also worked on policy development and implementation support with various government departments to facilitate an ecosystem that enables the adoption of sustainable design, construction, operation, and maintenance practices.

                                                                          Sandeep Kachhawa

                                                                          Expert - Cooling and Refrigeration

                                                                          Sandeep Kachhawa is an energy efficiency researcher with over a decade of experience in research and policy advisory. He specializes in building energy efficiency and cold chain systems and has conducted qualitative and quantitative studies in collaboration with businesses, government, and civil society. At AEEE, Sandeep has contributed to several publications focused on cooling including the India Cooling Action Plan. He played an important role in conceptualizing India’s periodic State Energy Efficiency Index, assessing states’ energy efficiency policies and programs, while working closely with NITI Aayog and BEE. Sandeep has authored numerous research papers, including those advocating for adaptive thermal comfort, decoding India’s building stock characteristics, rethinking ECBC implementation in states and cities, evaluation framework for assessing state-level energy efficiency implementation, and policy & technology roadmap for retrofitting/modernizing cold storages in India. He is a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) and has helped improve the energy performance of many large commercial and mixed-use buildings in India. Sandeep is a Mechanical Engineer and holds a Master’s in Energy Engineering from MNIT Jaipur. His prior affiliations with TERI and AECOM have helped shape his knowledge and understanding of the field of energy efficiency.

                                                                          Sangeeta Mathew

                                                                          Senior Project Manager

                                                                          Sangeeta Mathew is a senior advisor at AEEE, leading projects in cold chain, energy data and state-level energy efficiency. She led the development and publication of the first three editions of the State Energy Efficiency Index for 2018, 2019, and 2020. The State Energy Efficiency Index, jointly developed with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), evaluates states on their energy efficiency efforts and achievements across all demand sectors. Sangeeta’s work in cold chain is aimed at demonstrating energy-efficient, clean energy powered cold chain solutions to reduce post-harvest food loss and improve cold storage for life-saving medicines in rural health centres. Her work includes the development of energy data frameworks and increasing visibility and awareness of end-use energy consumption.

                                                                          Before joining AEEE, Sangeeta worked in Information and Communications Technology for 20 years. She developed network products for data and voice networks, operational support systems and data analytics to improve network repair and customer support efficiency.

                                                                          Sangeeta holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communication from Manipal Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

                                                                            Sanjay Chaurasia

                                                                            Sanjay Chaurasia is senior graphics designer cum visual story teller at AEEE. He comes with more than 8 years of experience in the field of graphic designer. After his graduation in arts he completed his certification in Multimedia from Arena Multimedia to hone his designing skills. Sanjay’s work at AEEE is to standardise as well as optimise the company’s internal and external communication collaterals including company branding, brochure design, reports and digital media infographics. Prior to this, Sanjay has worked in some reputed publishing companies as a freelancer. Sanjay is a person who believes life is a learning process and is currently picking up website designing skills.

                                                                              Santosh Kumar Saini

                                                                              Santosh Kumar Saini is a passionate and enthusiastic researcher specializing in sustainable refrigeration & cold chains, HVAC, and renewable energy. Holding a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani, his research focused on evaluating energy-efficient refrigeration technologies for seafood cold chains in India. With expertise in HVAC, refrigerants and refrigeration system analysis, Santosh brings a holistic understanding to his work. He has contributed to the development of a national scheme for advanced grid-scale energy storage technologies as a Research Associate at IIT Roorkee. He has a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy from Centre for Energy and Environment, MNIT Jaipur. Santosh has played key roles in three international projects, proposing energy-efficient refrigeration technologies for optimal seafood storage and handling. With strong technical competencies and analytical skills, Santosh is dedicated to driving sustainable solutions and making a positive impact in the field of energy and refrigeration. Santosh also enjoys playing badminton and swimming, embracing the competitive spirit and staying physically active in his leisure time.

                                                                                Dr. Satish Kumar serves as the President and Executive Director of the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE). Prior to AEEE, he was the Energy Efficiency Ambassador and led the Energy Management business at the Schneider Electric India, a Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and the Chief of Party for a USAID-supported bilateral energy efficiency technical assistance program (ECO-III) project. He has a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon and a B. Arch from IIT Roorkee), was nominated for an executive leadership program at Harvard Business School and the University of North Carolina, is a member on the TEAP’s Energy Efficiency Task Force under the Montreal Protocol, is a LEED Fellow (USGBC), Certified Energy Manager and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (Association of Energy Engineers).

                                                                                  Saumya Swasti is a Project Associate in the Buildings and communities division of AEEE. She is an undergraduate Physical Planner holding a degree in Bachelor of Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. As a young professional in the planning paradigm, she holds a special interest in the fields of social development, sustainability, and environmentally friendly practices in urban and rural regimes. In the past, she has worked with HCL Foundation in their rural development initiative Samuday which is working for the income augmentation of marginalized communities.

                                                                                  While working with AEEE she aims to integrate the thoughts and principles she has inculcated through her planning education with energy efficiency to ideate innovative solutions that amount to environmentally and climatically conscious development.

                                                                                    Shubham Mankar is a dedicated professional with a strong background in agriculture and agribusiness. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Anand Niketan College of Agriculture, Anandwan, Warora, and hails from the industrially diverse district of Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Shubham’s passion for agriculture led him to pursue an MBA in Agribusiness Management from Dr. D.Y. Patil University, Pune, where he honed his skills in the dynamic world of agricultural management and innovation.

                                                                                    With prior experience of 2 Years as a Research Associate in the Food, Beverages, and Agriculture domain at Markets and Markets Research Pvt Ltd, Pune,  Shubham has a comprehensive understanding of market trends and dynamics in the agribusiness sector.

                                                                                      Snehashis Tapadar have completed B Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Calcutta Institute of Technology under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology.

                                                                                      He is completed an MBA- Public System with a specialization in Energy Management from Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) under Calcutta University (CU).

                                                                                      After completion of MBA, he joined as a Consultant in Enfragy Solutions India Pvt Ltd based at Assam State Designated Agency in Guwahati in July 2019 to August 2020. After that, he continued as a Consultant for Assam State Designated Agency on behalf of iNVENCO from September 2020 to 15th October 2022.

                                                                                      He interned with Vikram India Limited and Swapan K Dutta PE during my MBA time. he was a part of the Mandatory Energy Audit in Eastern Railway (Sealdah Division).

                                                                                        Stuti Goyal works as a Research Associate in the Buildings and Communities division of AEEE.

                                                                                        She is an Architect, registered with the Council of Architecture, and holds a Master’s degree in Building Energy Performance from CEPT University. She is a GRIHA Certified Professional, with a core interest in building physics, energy simulations, daylight analysis, and policy and research. She is well versed with national and international green building rating systems, building energy codes, and energy standards.

                                                                                        She has 6+ years of experience in the field, wherein she has worked extensively on Architectural projects, green building certifications, and building performance analysis. Her broader interests lie in contributing to the creation of sustainable built spaces that enhance the quality of life of the occupants.

                                                                                        With over 9 years of experience in the field of accounting and finance, Sumit looks after accounting, taxation, and other commercial requirements at AEEE. Prior to joining AEEE in 2015, he worked with IRG Systems South Asia Pvt. Ltd. on USAID’s Energy Conservation Commercialisation Project (ECO-III), Disaster Management Support Project (DMSP), ECO Asia Clean Development and Climate Program and Private Finance Advisory Network (PFAN).

                                                                                          Supriya has 12+ years of multifaceted experience in the development sector, building effective partnerships; stakeholder engagement; outreach; communications; large-scale social responsibility, advocacy, and capacity-building programs.

                                                                                          She has led and functioned with diverse teams and stakeholders working with the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) wing of TERI, and TERI School of Advanced Studies. She has also worked as an Independent Consultant for partnerships, outreach, and communication-based projects mainly with start-ups.

                                                                                          She comes with a Master’s in Natural Resources Management from TERI SAS, and a Master’s in Education from the University of Delhi. She also has a certification in ‘Strategic Communications and Partnership Building for Social Impact’ from CDMC-MICA.

                                                                                            Suyashi Srivastava

                                                                                            Suyashi Srivastava is a part of the core team that organises Solar Decathlon India. She is working on industry and real estate partnerships along with several technical areas of the competition. Her professional experience includes working as a BIM Architect at SYSTRA MVA and an Energy Analyst at Ecoinch and Ecofirst Services Limited-A TATA Enterprise. She has an M.Tech Degree in Building Energy Performance from CEPT University and is trained to evaluate energy-efficiency measures through analysis and simulations. Her research paper titled ‘Tree Shading Factor as input for thermal model through hemispherical photography‘, was published at International Building Performance Simulation Association 2021 – BS2021 conference held at Belgium.

                                                                                            An alumni of the U.S. DOE Solar Decathlon Design Challenge 2019, she has served as a Technical Resource Group member for Solar Decathlon India as an expert in water efficiency and net-zero-water design. A LEED Green Associate and an ASHRAE member, she has led both GRIHA & IGBC documentation and certification. Her intent to bridge the gap between the building design and its environmental surroundings drives her career goals.

                                                                                                  Teenu J Thaikattil is a Research Associate in the Buildings and Communities Vertical division of AEEE.

                                                                                                  Her research areas of interest are Behavioural Urbanism and Net Zero Neighbourhood.

                                                                                                    Vibhu Saxena is a Planner by profession and has completed his graduation in Physical Planning from School of Planning and Architecture New Delhi. He is a Project Associate at the organization and is working with Akhil Singhal under the Advanced Technologies vertical. He is a young professional and has a year of prior experience of working in rural development sector.

                                                                                                    Vibhu is primarily working in the District cooling project. He shall be assisting AEEE’s vision from an Urban Planner’s point of view and look at scaling them and integrating them with city’s planning.

                                                                                                      Vikas Nimesh

                                                                                                      Senior Research Associate

                                                                                                      Vikas Nimesh has joined AEEE as Senior Research Associate in Power Utility and Electric Mobility verticals. His key expertise areas are Electric Vehicles Adoption Planning, Transportation Planning, Choice Modelling, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Lifecycle Assessment. He has completed his Ph.D. and M.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and B.Tech in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering from Delhi Technological University. His doctoral thesis broadly focuses on assessing the demand and implications of electric vehicles on energy and the environment. He has published his research findings on E-mobility in two reputed journals namely Energy Conversion and Management, and Energy. Along with the Ph.D., he was involved in multidisciplinary projects including emission assessment in the coalfield area, Optimal Planning of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) network in an Urban Area, Remote Estimation of On-road Vehicular Emissions & Assessment of Commuter Exposure to Ground-level Air Quality. In his free time, he likes to play and watch cricket.

                                                                                                        “Vipin Rohilla joined as a Program Lead where he will lead AEEE’s work related to M&V, Industrial Decarbonization, ESCOs business, Energy Efficiency Financing. In the capacity of the Programme Lead, he will also be supporting multiple projects with activities related to financing, M&V, and technology feasibility assessments.

                                                                                                        Vipin has 16 years of experience in consulting and ESCOs business, Energy Efficiency Financing, M&V, and Demand side Management. Prior to AEEE, Vipin worked with National Productivity Council (NPC) in various capacities, where he contributed significantly to energy policy development, energy audit studies, demand-side management, Measurement and Verification, implementation of energy efficiency technologies, Third party assessment of various government schemes, and training on technical topics. He also led similar kind of assignments executed in Bangladesh, Nepal, Egypt and UAE. He also worked in TARSHID (Super ESCO of Saudi Arabia) as Senior Project Manager (M&V) for 3 years during 2019-2022.

                                                                                                        Vipin holds a Master’s degree in Finance from FMS, Delhi University, and Certificate in Project Management from IIM Indore. He completed B.E. in Electrical Engineering.                                                                                                           Winamra Negi is BEE Certified Energy Auditor with a postgraduate background as an MBA from Symbiosis International University in the Energy & Environment domain and Mechanical Engineering.

                                                                                                          My work experience includes diverse roles and projects, viz., Manufacturing (Plant Engineering, Projects, Environmental Management, etc.), Technical Sales (Thermal Engineering Products, WHRB, etc.), Government Consulting – Energy Efficiency and Management Consulting – Climate Smart Buildings Project.

                                                                                                          I have been a big advocate of finding feasible techno-economical solutions brought by a bottom-up approach for a sustainable and better future.
